Prepare chapters for a fiction platform
- Check chapter order, titles, and text in your book.
- Review the selected chapters and use whole-book search to check recurring names and terms.
- Export a chapter or the whole book as TXT, or copy the text you intend to submit.
- Sign in to the platform’s author dashboard, review the title, text, and author note, then save a draft or publish through its own workflow.
Keep a copy of the submitted text so you can distinguish it from later revisions. Available formatting, review, and scheduling options depend on the platform.
Prepare a Word manuscript for an editor
Ask whether the editor wants the full manuscript or sample chapters, and which supporting documents are needed. Export the requested chapter or book as Word from Import and Export.
Open the exported file in Word or a compatible editor. Check chapter order, headings, paragraphs, contents, and images. Apply the publisher’s template to the delivery copy when required.
For nonfiction and substantial articles, organize the main text into chapters and keep references and revision notes in supporting documents. Check quotations, sources, and image captions before delivery.
Continue revising after submission
Save a book snapshot before major edits and use document history to compare changes. Word, TXT, and EPUB exports are separate copies; keep the original book for future revisions.
